Which ACOUSTIC guitar should I buy as a beginner?

I thirst to learn to play acoustic guitar...just to be capable to strum some songs like Tom Petty and Lennon at cosy or in front of friends around a fire or whathaveyou. I found a guy to give me lessons and now I need a guitar.
Buying a guitar can be an intimidating manipulate, especially if you've never purchased one before. There are so many factors to consider, and so many guitars at one's disposal, novices will surely feel overwhelmed. Fear not - succour is available.
