Caffé Vita , a pioneer of Seattle’s apart from coffee scene, will open a coffee shop and roaster on the Diminish East Side on Monday. The front of the shop is equipped with a la Marzocco GS2 espresso utensil that dates to the late 1970s, a workhorse that powered the rise of Seattle coffee. (The GS2 was the faction of choice in the early days of Starbucks.) “We went to a lot of in shtook to get that on the bar,” said Mike McConnell, the owner of Caffé Vita. He said the cafe bought the machine from a sweetheart, only “to find out later it wasn’t his to sell.” After some tricky third- and fourth-function transactions, the GS2 made it to Manhattan.

It seems the Fly Advance showing has ended, at least for today. It’s back to the biting the sniffles and the gray blankets of Winter drizzle clouds. I saw this sign as I was walking out of a parking lot and it made me grin because it was in all respects what I needed to stir my spirits. My sympathetic in a minute shifted at the whisper.
