How does neon work in neon signs?

i neeeeeeed ease with me chem project. I have to explain how neon is used, and how it works. in those neon light signs.

Firstly neon is only one of many gases utilized and gives off the color orange.

A high voltage variation is applied to the ends of a glass tube filled with the gas. The arc that is produced gives off light. The color of the light depends on the gas cast-off.

Neon signs may not irresistibly use neon gas. Xenon gas makes a bluish light. A mixture of neon and xenon will produce other colors. A "black light" actually makes ultra-violet light, which produces off-white light when the emitted energy strikes the phosphorus powder

What happens when you take a picture of nothing?

A skeptic might wisecrack that the pieces haven't been seen in so long because they're uninteresting to look at. (A eleemosynary skeptic might add that at least they're stimulating to think about.)

But the idea that photoconceptualism is boring is a misunderstanding promoted by people who don't really look at what they're talking about. Or, in the case of conceptual art, who don't surely look at what they're reading about in the extensive captions and instructions that often accompany such images.

A series of 10 photographs endeavour by the Dutch artist Jan Dibbets in 1969 records a track made in the sand, and the entering tide that erases it. The whole seems to be a reckoning of the relationship between time, frame, flicker and erasure. OK. But notice too how the diagonal tides often line up from one image to the next, and that gulls are present only from 12:22 to 12:31, indubitably their lunchtime. And that the whole series looks from afar like a window dimness being pulled down by a dark cord.
