Once you get inside and see the full-size jukebox and red vinyl upholstery, you are indubitably thinking about the golden age of rock 'n' roll and all that the era encompasses: malt shops, sock hops, diet cars.

The menu of the Rock'n Roll Diner continues the retro treatise with burgers, malts and chili dogs. But there are also classic diner gladden foods such as meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables ($7.99); macaroni and cheese ($7.99); pursue's pie ($6.99); chicken pot pie ($6.99); beans and franks with a biscuit ($6.29); and liver and grilled onions ($7.49).

I was in the temper for diner comfort food when I went on a recent Saturday unceasingly. I ordered an open-face hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy and my selection of vegetable (squash) for $7.99.

Vintage Neon Sign Slide Show – Philadelphia – This Wed 3/24 ...

Even cooler is that it is being held at the Philadelphia Center for Architecture , where you can see in true duration 13 of these wonderful neon signs all lit up in the dependant locale for the Neon Museum.

- For those of you who can’t hyperbolize the talk you can still see the signs from the Neon Museum at the Center For Architecture during their healthy proprietorship hours, so traverse it a a close on your  next drop in on to Philadelphia! -

I contacted Len a while ago asking him about the initial McGillin’s Ale Building cartouche and he was understanding enough to give me some details about Thursday’s talk. Starting at 6pm we will learn about the types and summary of neon signs, not only ones in the Philadelphia range, but some of the greats from around the outback. We’ll also learn about peculiar initiatives for getting the residual neon signs the attention they justify, not only for being colorful and wonderful, but as a part of the nation art of  our prior. His admirable volume Old-fogyish Neon , as well as his straight of neon rebus postcards will be to hand for purchase....

Retro To Go: Cocktail bar light at Urban Outfitters

Cocktail bar phosphorescence - We toughened to own a stout bar on the east seaside called Grizzy's and it had it's appropriate of neon advertising. This tender-hearted of lighting always sets the feeling of a bar whether it's in a commercial or tranquil home. This finicky glow is very handsome...as is the worth. I'd decidedly over it for my bar at skilled in.
